A police officer was dragged for over 100 meters after being hit during a check conducted on Juan Cristóbal street in the Huechuraba commune. The incident occurred at 5:00 PM on Wednesday when police personnel were carrying out a check in the area. During the patrol, a vehicle with three women and a 4-year-old child inside was stopped.

Suddenly, while the procedure was underway, the driver accelerated in an attempt to evade the police control, hitting the officer, who was dragged for more than 100 meters. According to reports, the officer fired seven shots at the car in an attempt to stop it, but was unsuccessful, as the vehicle fled the scene. Minutes later, the car was found abandoned without its occupants.

The officer sustained head injuries and was taken to the institutional hospital, where it was reported that he is out of life-threatening danger and has less severe injuries.
