According to police information, the incident occurred around 11:10 PM when three Chilean nationals scaled the property's protection and forced a door to enter the house. Inside, the victims, aged 70 and 81, were sleeping and were tied up, with one of them being assaulted during a struggle with the intruders, resulting in minor injuries. The criminals managed to flee in a vehicle with loot estimated at around $5 million, having stolen a computer, cell phones, jewelry, and other valuable items.

Lieutenant Christopher San Martín, an officer from the Santiago Andes Prefecture, explained that the robbery was reported by municipal personnel who informed that "an offense occurred in a private residence affecting two elderly adults aged 81 and 70. These individuals were in the property overnight at the moment three masked men entered, who stole various items and tied up the elderly person who was on the second floor. " "These individuals then fled in an unknown direction, apparently in a dark-colored car, as indicated by the victims.

During the police operation, personnel from the mixed patrol of the 18th Ñuñoa Police Station checked vehicles with similar characteristics afterward. At the time of the check, they found two occupants inside. One of them, acting suspiciously, threw an object behind, leading to the discovery of a Lenovo notebook computer inside," he stated.

He added that "the police personnel conducted the necessary procedures, confirming that the stolen computer indeed belonged to the victim of the property. As a result, the police from the 18th Police Station proceeded to arrest both individuals for the crime of receiving stolen goods. " Under the instruction of the Prosecutor's Office, personnel from OS9 and the Criminalistics Laboratory (Labocar) of Carabineros are conducting investigations to establish their involvement in the robbery of the elderly individuals.
