An important advance in urban connectivity will take place in Punta Arenas with the upcoming opening of a new section of Avenida Bulnes, one of the city's main arteries. According to reports, the segment between Sarmiento and Angamos streets will be opened to traffic on March 31, improving vehicle circulation in this area, which has been undergoing roadworks. The intervention is part of an urban improvement project promoted by the Government, aimed at optimizing road infrastructure and safety for drivers and pedestrians.
However, the works will not conclude with this opening. Authorities indicated that construction will continue towards Rómulo Correa and also on Chiloé street, meaning some detours and traffic measures will remain in place in nearby areas. The Government urged the community to drive cautiously and respect the installed signage, especially in areas where work is still ongoing.
This partial opening represents a significant step in the modernization of Avenida Bulnes, a key axis for the connectivity of Punta Arenas.
