The chief prosecutor of Vallenar, Nicolás Zolezzi Briones, commented that the perpetrator of the crime stole various items after climbing over the perimeter fence. The Local Prosecutor's Office of Vallenar obtained a preventive detention order against a suspect who was arrested by Carabineros personnel following a burglary that affected a home in this commune. The details of this case were presented during the formalization hearing by the chief prosecutor of the city, Nicolás Zolezzi Briones, who indicated that the detained individual arrived at the front of the affected property around 11 PM.
He then accessed the front yard of the house by climbing over and, after forcing the entrance door, entered the home from which he stole various items. "The information contained in the investigative file of this case indicates that the suspect gathered items valued at 4 million pesos, which he subsequently moved outside the property, which at the time of the crime was unoccupied. After that, he entered a boarding house located nearby," said the prosecutor.
Zolezzi added that, following the incident, the Prosecutor's Office ordered investigative actions by Carabineros, whose officers gathered witness statements and graphic evidence provided by neighbors in the area, information that allowed them to establish the dynamics of the events and carry out the arrest of the individual, who had in his possession all the stolen items. CHARGES: With this information, the Prosecutor's Office informed the suspect that he is being investigated for his completed participation in the crime of burglary in a dwelling, requesting the on-duty court to apply the preventive detention measure, considering that his freedom poses a danger to public safety. This request was accepted by the court, which ordered the detained individual to be taken to the local jail and set a 60-day deadline for the closure of the investigation, prior to the respective indictment, during which the Prosecutor's Office will seek the penalty provided by law for this serious crime.
