The Health Authority of the Metropolitan Region issued an alert following the theft of a nuclear densitometer from the public road in the La Cisterna commune. The health authority warned that the stolen equipment contains radioactive material, making improper handling a serious risk to human life and the environment, especially if it is opened or tampered with. The device is an Instrotek brand, model 3500 Explorer, with serial number 1038, and is used to measure moisture, density, and other technical parameters related to construction and civil engineering.

Meanwhile, the Municipality of La Cisterna stated that "the referred nuclear densitometer is privately owned" and that its theft occurred "13 days ago, according to the PDI. " "We are available to collaborate with you in whatever is requested, according to our competencies," they added.
