The Court of Letters and Guarantees of Quintero will process the legal action filed against the mayor following a complaint regarding events that occurred on March 8 at a nightclub. The Court of Letters and Guarantees of Quintero has formally accepted a criminal complaint against the mayor of the municipality, Rolando Silva, for the alleged crime of sexual abuse. The legal action, presented by attorney Cynthia Pérez, seeks to ensure that the complainant actively participates in the criminal investigation already led by the Public Ministry, following an initial complaint made a few days after the alleged incidents.

According to the account of the complainant, the events allegedly occurred on March 8, after an official activity in the area. The version presented states that the mayor went to a restobar with collaborators and councilors, where a sexual assault allegedly took place in the bathroom area against a worker at the establishment. Given the seriousness of the accusations, the victim's defense requested urgent measures from the court to safeguard audiovisual evidence and recordings from the establishment's security cameras.

In parallel to the criminal aspect, attorney Cynthia Pérez submitted a request to the Comptroller General of the Republic. The aim of this action is for the oversight body to determine whether the events constitute a serious violation of administrative integrity, which could lead to internal sanctions independent of the judicial ruling. For her part, regional councilor Paula Rosso emphasized the need for a swift investigation, stressing that the right to defense and a fair trial must also be safeguarded for all parties involved.

With the acceptance of this complaint, the investigation enters a key stage of evidence collection and testimony gathering. The focus of the prosecution will be on examining the requested material evidence and establishing the veracity of the reported events. Meanwhile, the community of Quintero remains attentive to the development of this process that involves the highest municipal authority and calls into question the fulfillment of the duties of the position.
