The municipal staff began these improvement works on March 5 and will continue until the first days of April. The main objective is to give a renewed image to the city's main public promenade. To give a new face to the main public promenade of the city, the municipality of Ovalle is developing a series of improvement works in the main square, aiming to renew this important space and provide better conditions for community gatherings and recreation.
The works, which started on March 5, include the improvement of furniture and benches, soil preparation, planting of low-water-requirement species, reseeding, and changing lighting fixtures, actions aimed at creating a more sustainable, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Mayor Héctor Vega Campusano highlighted the importance of these works. “We are making progress in the recovery and improvement of our public spaces because we know that the main square is a fundamental meeting point for the community.
We want this place to be safer, more beautiful, and in line with the needs of our neighbors,” said the municipal authority. Meanwhile, Marcelo Tabilo, the director of Environment, Cleaning, and Ornamental Services of the municipality of Ovalle, explained that “these works involve a comprehensive intervention of the space, incorporating low-water-consumption species and improving both the furniture and lighting, which will allow for a more sustainable square in better conditions for daily use. ” The works are expected to be completed during the first week of April, and the community is asked for understanding regarding any inconveniences that may arise during the development of the works carried out by municipal staff.
With these actions, the municipality of Ovalle will continue the renewal and improvement of public spaces to contribute to the quality of life of the inhabitants of the commune, promoting safer, more sustainable, and accessible environments for all.
