A massive power outage has been affecting thousands of homes in some municipalities of the Metropolitan Region since this Friday, amid the brief rains recorded in the capital. Imagine if it were a storm! According to reports from the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuels (SEC), more than 55,000 customers or homes are without electricity supply as of 9:00 PM.
Affected municipalities by the power outage At the moment, the most affected municipality is La Pintana, with 8,223 homes, followed by Colina (7,050), Lo Prado (6,187), and Curacaví (6,049). Further back are Paine (4,502), Padre Hurtado (4,041), Maipú (3,329), San Bernardo (2,824), and Recoleta (2,794). Both Enel and CGE have informed through social media that their teams are working to restore the electricity supply as soon as possible.
Preventive Early Alert in municipalities of the Metropolitan Region Senapred has maintained a Preventive Early Alert for 10 municipalities in the Metropolitan Region due to winds, thunderstorms, and rain. The measure is directed at the municipalities of San José de Maipo, Puente Alto, Pirque, La Florida, Peñalolén, La Reina, Las Condes, Lo Barnechea, Vitacura, and Colina. Meanwhile, Senapred issued a warning for possible thunderstorms in seven regions of the country, including the Metropolitan Region.
