Personnel from the OS-9 unit of the Carabineros managed to arrest a man reported for a serious case of domestic violence in Las Condes. The arrest occurred after the victim, a 47-year-old woman who had faced months of sustained abuse, managed to escape. The woman presented various medium-severity injuries, confirmed at a healthcare center, including bruises, cuts, and wounds consistent with repeated assaults over time.

The investigation, instructed by the Eastern Flagrancy Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the OS-9 Department of the Carabineros of Chile, originated from a complaint made by the victim herself on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. This individual had been in a cohabiting relationship with the suspect since December 2025, after meeting through social media. According to the complaint, the victim had been forcibly held by her partner, who restricted her movements and kept her isolated.

In this context, she was subjected to constant physical assaults, death threats, and episodes of extreme violence, including attempts at suffocation, creating a prolonged coercive control situation. The situation reached its most critical point on Wednesday when the suspect intensified the assaults and threatened to kill her and burn down the property they shared. Taking advantage of a moment of carelessness, the victim managed to flee and went to a Carabineros unit where she filed a complaint that immediately activated investigative protocols.

Based on this information, the Public Ministry obtained an arrest warrant, along with a search and seizure order for the residence. In the early hours of Thursday, March 26, OS-9 personnel, with support from the Special Police Operations Group (GOPE), carried out an operation at the house located in Las Condes, successfully arresting the individual. The arrested man, 49 years old, had a criminal record and outstanding arrest warrants for offenses related to domestic violence and threats.

Additionally, police seized knives and other relevant items from the property, which were sent for specialized forensic analysis. By instruction of the Public Ministry, the accused was placed at the disposal of the competent court for his detention control, while investigations continue to fully clarify the facts.
