The historic executive of Banco Santander Chile, Claudio Melandri, will leave the financial institution after 37 years with the Spanish capital group. Through a significant event reported to the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF), the general manager and country head of Santander Chile, Andrés Trautmann, announced that Melandri has stepped down from the presidency of the bank. His replacement is former Central Bank president Rodrigo Vergara, who previously held the position of first vice president of the bank.
The position of principal director left vacant by Melandri will remain unfilled until the election of the bank's board, scheduled for April 28, during the ordinary shareholders' meeting.
