The director of Azul Azul, Aldo Marín, publicly addressed the controversy generated by a report from Canal 13 that indirectly linked him to the supporter Víctor Poblete, alias “Vitoko,” who is identified as a leader of Los de Abajo and a suspected member of an organization connected to drug trafficking. His name appeared in the investigation due to photographs showing him socializing with Poblete at a service station, raising questions about potential ties between club officials and figures associated with the supporters' group. The Canal 13 investigation revealed that “Vitoko” is a key figure within the drug organization “Los Wayan,” in addition to his role in the Universidad de Chile supporters' group.
Among the evidence shared were screenshots of video calls with players such as Marcelo Morales and Lucas Assadi, as well as records of stadium entries despite a ban in place until 2034. However, the report clarified that there is no evidence directly linking players or officials to any crimes. “There is no link, no connection, no relationship,” Marín stated in interviews following the report's airing, including one with 24 Horas, where he denied any relationship with the supporter.
“I want to make that clear, that I did not commit any offense, no crime,” he affirmed. Marín acknowledged that the meeting took place but insisted it was coincidental and without significant implications. “I saw this person for the first and only time; I have never seen him again,” he assured.
Marín also criticized the way the information was presented, claiming that several aspects were distorted in the investigation. “I feel that there are several things that are not what we discussed; they were somewhat misrepresented,” he indicated, pointing to the journalist behind the report. He defended his willingness to engage with club fans, stating, “I will continue talking with the fans because I committed to listening to everyone.
” Despite the controversy, the director of Azul Azul claimed to have the support of the board and the club president. “I am very calm. We have discussed this issue, and they know what it is about,” he maintained.
Furthermore, he dismissed any doubts about his position amid the criticism, assuring that he remains focused on the club's future work.
