President José Antonio Kast appointed Iskra Cox, Patricio Ponce, and Yasna Cancino as new regional secretaries in Maule, strengthening key areas for regional development. The President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast, officially announced the appointment of three new regional authorities in Maule, who will take on strategic roles in the ministries of Health, Housing and Urban Development, and Public Works. Iskra Cox, a dentist specializing in Public Health with experience in managing the healthcare system, will lead the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Health.
She previously served as head of the Training Unit at the Maule Health Service, as well as deputy director of Network Management in Los Ríos and regional director of the Legal Medical Service in various regions of the country. Meanwhile, architect Patricio Ponce will head the Housing and Urban Development portfolio. Educated at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, he has over 15 years of experience and specializes in Urban Law and Real Estate Management.
His previous roles include serving as an advisor to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (Minvu) and chairing the City and Territory Commission of the Chilean Construction Chamber. On the other hand, lawyer Yasna Cancino will take on the role of regional secretary of Public Works. With 24 years of professional experience, she has worked as a public defender, litigator, and president of the Electoral Board in Linares, in addition to teaching at the University of Talca and the Catholic University of Maule.
Regional presidential delegate Juan Eduardo Prieto welcomed the new authorities and highlighted the role they will play in the development of the territory. “We trust that their experience and commitment will strengthen public management and contribute to the growth of Maule,” he stated. The new appointments aim to consolidate regional management in areas deemed priorities, focusing on territorial development, public health, and infrastructure.
