A homicide was reported in the Puente Alto commune, where a 19-year-old Chilean man died after being shot while riding a motorcycle with a friend. The incident occurred at the intersection of Canela and Azul streets when they were intercepted by a man who, apparently without provocation, fired a series of shots at the victim. The young man sustained around seven bullet wounds to various parts of his body.
After the attack, local residents assisted the injured man and took him to a nearby health center. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Sótero del Río Hospital, where his death was confirmed despite medical efforts. Subprefect Robert Briones, head of the Southern Homicide Brigade of the Investigative Police, explained that "the victim was traveling with a companion when the attack occurred and was initially taken by local residents to a health center located about 700 meters from the scene.
" The police official detailed that, for now, no one has been arrested, although there is already information about the alleged perpetrator of the crime. In this regard, efforts are focused on gathering witness statements and reviewing security camera footage. Additionally, the testimony of the victim's companion, who was unharmed during the armed attack, will be crucial.
