Rebecca Sonnenshine, who has worked on "The Boys" and "The Vampire Diaries," leads this new adaptation as showrunner, expressing that "this series is a story of family love. It’s a family you want to be with, that you want to get to know, and that you want to spend time with. That is, in fact, the very essence of 'Little House on the Prairie': a family whose members support each other, tell stories to one another, and talk about themselves.
" The literary classic was previously adapted for television by the American network NBC from 1974 to 1983, airing for nine seasons with over 200 episodes and captivating an entire generation with the saga of the "Ingalls" family.
